EHS vs Everlab: Comparing Executive Health Checks in Australia

Executive Health Check Providers

Historically, company-funded health checks for directors and C-suite executives were basic, standard assessments, essentially just ticking a box before moving on. However, the evolution of Medicine 3.0 and a shift from reactive to proactive healthcare have transformed the market for executive health solutions. These modern evaluations are more comprehensive, focusing on early detection and preventive care, thereby offering more significant health benefits and insights into long-term wellness.

Who is EHS (Executive health solutions)?

Executive Health Solutions (EHS) is a corporate wellness provider, delivering professional and comprehensive health programs to companies and individuals around Australia.

Who is Everlab?

Everlab is a med-tech and preventative health company established in 2022 based out of Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. Everlab specialises in providing technology driven preventative health assessments direct to consumers, businesses and corporates.

What’s included in their health assessments?

When you're responsible for corporate wellness, it's crucial to choose health check providers that offer services tailored to your company's specific needs. Everlab and Executive Health Solutions (EHS) both provide comprehensive health assessments, but with distinct approaches and benefits. Let’s explore how each aligns with different corporate wellness goals.

Pathology & Bloods

When comparing the full range of pathology services offered by EHS and Everlab, several notable differences emerge.

Test Offerings:

  • EHS: Their Premium Health Assessment includes approximately 40 blood tests. Both EHS and Everlab provide common tests such as Lipid Profiles (Total Cholesterol, High-Density Lipoproteins, Low-Density Lipoproteins, Triglycerides), Blood Glucose, HbA1c, Full Blood Count (Haemoglobin, Red Cells, White Cells, Platelets), Kidney Function Tests, Liver Function Tests, and more.
  • Everlab: They offer a more extensive selection with over 100 different blood tests. Notably, Everlab includes tests for Lipoprotein (a) [Lipo(a)] and Apolipoprotein B (ApoB), which are critical in the prevention of heart disease. Additionally, Everlab documents your Apolipoprotein E (ApoE) gene. For a comprehensive list of all the tests Everlab offers, click here.

Age Restrictions:

  • EHS: There are age restrictions for several tests. For instance, the PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test is only administered to males over 50 years old or those with a family history of prostate cancer. Similarly, the FOBT (Fecal Occult Blood Test) is available only to individuals over the age of 50.
  • Everlab: Their tests come with no age restrictions, ensuring that all individuals who participate in the program receive the same extensive range of tests.

In summary, while both EHS and Everlab offer a variety of essential blood tests, Everlab provides a more comprehensive suite of tests without age limitations, potentially offering a more thorough health assessment.

Physical Assessment

EHS: An EHS health check includes a surface level physical assessment that touches on some of the high priority risks you face when you age. These include:

  • Lung Function Test
  • Abdominal Strength and Flexibility testing
  • Stress ECG

With a focus on promoting general overall health, EHS helps patients become less vulnerable to more of the ‘common’ issues that often result from stress and aging.

Everlab: Everlab on the other hand provides a more comprehensive physical assessment with a greater focus on your longevity. Testing includes:

With a primary focus on longevity, Everlab's physical assessment targets your high-risk areas, emphasising the detection of risks associated with the top five chronic diseases.

Lifestyle and Nutrition Testing

Often the leading cause of your medical risks are your diet and lifestyle factors such as sleep and stress. Both EHS and Everlab conduct nutritional assessments to identify any major issues.

EHS offers up to 3 digital consultations (or face to face if in Sydney) to chat about nutrition and hydration. Everlab vary, in that you conduct a 7 day food journal and CGM test which is then used for analysis with your dietitian via a digital consultation.

The main difference between the two nutritional and lifestyle assessments is how the information is used with all the other diagnostics. EHS focuses on your health today and looks at all your information as a snapshot point in time. Everlab on the other hand combines all your diagnostics, family history and past health records to make assessments about not only your health today, but what you may be at risk of in the future. The lifestyle and nutritional assessment is one components that feeds into this.

What do you receive after your health check?

EHS provides reports to both the individual and to the company funding the health check.

  • Individual reports - a digital PDF comprehensively covering all pathology results, risk factors and recommendations.
  • Corporate reports - provide data on the findings for each site, division and the organisation as a whole. They are de-identified in keeping with privacy legislation and can only be provided where there are 20+ participants for this reason.

Everlab does things a little differently.

As the more technology driven provider Everlab displays the results of their health checks via their engineered web and mobile application. This application includes a user-friendly interface designed to store, display, and interpret all your health check results and recommendations. This is essentially your one-stop shop for all your medical data and the definitive source for what you need to do to reduce your risk of disease. Additionally the Everlab app displays every biomarker tested, with a clear benchmark for how your result ranks for your age/gender, and what level of risk it coincides with.

The app is also where you will find your pathology reports (past and present), upcoming appointments and recordings of your sessions with every clinician for easy reference if need be.

Everlab will also provide company level reports upon request.

Administrative Items

Time and Cost

The time and cost investment varies depending on the program selected. Both Everlab and EHS offer different product tiers that meet varying company requirements.

  • EHS’s basic tier takes approximately 2 hours to complete and is *$1,210 per assessment.
  • Everlab’s diagnostic tier takes approximately 3 hours to complete and is $1,299 per assessment.

The times above include consultation time with doctors and other clinicians.

Marketing

Effective marketing and communication strategies are crucial for the success of executive health promotion programs, particularly in driving high participation rates among eligible employees. Both EHS and Everlab work with their customers to develop tailored engagement campaigns to drive maximum participation and successful adoption. These include:

  • Company wide communication
  • Employee information packs
  • Discovery calls with each team to learn more

Booking Process

EHS employs a specific chase sequence that includes 5 communication steps for every employee provided by the employer. The sequence is designed to get employees to check in on their health once per year.

Everlab conducts all bookings and reminders via their in-house app. At the completion of each assessment, the next health check is booked in, streamlining the process with minimal touch-points.

Additional Management Fees

EHS uses an all-inclusive pricing model that covers onboarding, program delivery, corporate account management, and reporting on clinical results. This model is made possible by high participation rates, which are achieved by obtaining an eligibility list, allowing EHS to contact participants, address queries, and facilitate bookings.

Where this is not provided, participation rates drop from over 65% to less than 25%. EHS therefore only charges a program management fee where EHS is unable to contact participants throughout the year to make a booking.

Program Management Fee:

• 10% of the cost of the total eligible population for the program.

• Billed at the commencement of the program and then annually.

While Everlab also prioritises high engagement rates among employees and executives for their health check programs, they take a different approach when it comes to additional fees. Everlab focuses on creating a seamless, inclusive experience without imposing extra charges for participant engagement or program management.

Everlab’s process emphasises proactive communication and support, encouraging participation without the need for added financial burden. By utilising accessible technology and personalised outreach strategies, Everlab ensures that participants feel informed and empowered to continue to book follow-on health checks.

EHS vs Everlab: Summary

In summary, both Everlab and EHS are extremely effective and excellent executive health providers. They are meticulous in their patient care and employ world class clinical teams with streamlined administrative processes all designed to create an exceptional medical experience.

EHS approaches health in a more reactive manner, focusing more on overall general health, using a less extensive, but a slightly cheaper array of diagnostics that is quicker to complete. It addresses common implications of aging and stress that a business leader may face in their tenure, and focuses on health coaching and guidance, providing information about all tests that are completed.

Everlab on the other hand believes more strongly in the impact of proactive healthcare. They focuses on longevity and early detection, applying a more comprehensive and proactive approach to your health. Their health checks are designed to ensure that all risks are screened early, not just the ones a patient may be more susceptible to.

Both companies are flexible in their offering and open to customised programs designed just for your business.
